The role of the Building Inspections Department is to administer the adopted building code. These model codes establish minimum requirements to provide a reasonable level of safety, public health and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress facilities, sanitation, adequate light and ventilation, stability, and safety to life and property from fire, explosion and other hazards, and to provide a reasonable level of safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations. 

PLEASE NOTE - Beginning March 2, 2022 the 2021 editions of the following codes are adopted and amended:

- International Building Code

- International Mechanical Code

- International Fuel Gas Code

- International Existing Building Code

- International Residential Code

- International Fire Code 

- International Property Maintenance Code
