Adams Memorial Museum

Adam Museum

Constructed in 1930 by pioneer businessman W.E. Adams, the Adams Museum is the first established museum in the Black Hills dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Deadwood and the surrounding Black Hills for the benefit of members of the Northern Black Hills community, visitors to the area, and researchers.

Adams donated the building to the City of Deadwood and is partially supported with funds from the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission. The museum is operated by Deadwood History, Inc. and the collections on display at the Adams Museum include materials related to the Black Hills region and western South Dakota.
