St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery is located just off Burnham Hill in the Highland Park Addition of Deadwood.  Established in 1880 as the Catholic Cemetery for Deadwood.  There are approximately 700 burials in this cemetery.  Click HERE to view a list of the individuals buried in the cemetery.

In 2003 the cemetery was deeded to the City of Deadwood and nine years later underwent a $2 million restoration funded by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission.  At the completion of the project, the cemetery was officially closed.  If you are going to visit St. Ambrose Cemetery, please set aside a minimum of one half hour to walk the cemetery.

Please remember, St. Ambrose  is sacred place and should be treated with respect.  Please take only photographs and leave nothing but memories.
