Term (May 2025 through June 2026)

Charles Eagleson, Commissioner of Public Works & Utilities, brings extensive experience in both business leadership and civic involvement to the Deadwood City Commission. Before moving to Deadwood in 2018, he retired from an international fabric company he founded and led in the Pacific Northwest for more than two decades.

A dedicated advocate for the community, Eagleson has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the past three years. He sits on the Boards of Directors for both the Deadwood Farmers Market and the Main Street Initiative. In addition, he volunteers regularly with Feeding Deadwood, the City Archivists Office, and at numerous local events—demonstrating his ongoing commitment to Deadwood.

A longtime history enthusiast with a deep commitment to preserving Deadwoods heritage, Eagleson—along with his wife, Vicki Dar—is restoring their 1880 home, once owned by Deadwood’s first female doctor, Flora Stanford. Passionate about their adopted home state, the couple also founded SouthDakotaSenior.com, a media company dedicated to connecting South Dakotans aged 50 and older through statewide stories, resources, and community engagement.
