Deadwood 150th Reading Challenge

All month, every month, through the end of the year!

Celebrate Deadwood's 150th by helping the library read 150,000 minutes!

Open to all ages! Pick up your reading log today!

Don't forget to turn in your log sheet before the month is out! Prizes will be awarded each month to those in each age bracket who have spent the most time reading. Age brackets are 2nd grade and under, 3rd to 5th grade, 6th to 12th grade, and adult. At the end of the year, grand prizes will be awarded to the top readers of the year.

Teen Night

Join us the 2nd Thursday of the month for Teen Night!

This month, we'll make a dinosaur trinket dish! Paint, decorate, and design a dino that will guard your treasures in style. All supplies will be provided.

Letters from the Gulch

Step through a portal to old Deadwood! This immersive event combines a thrilling look into Black Hills history with a creative writing workshop. You are the time traveler. Step into the shoes of the pioneers, survivors, and tycoons who built this town, and bring their hidden stories to life through the lost art of letter writing.

Celebrate the End of the Summer Reading Program with an unforgettable visit from the Black Hills Raptor Center at the Deadwood Recreation Center. Meet live birds of prey up close and learn about their habitats, adaptations, and conservation. Meet at the Deadwood Recreation Center at 2pm. Parking will be free for attendees of this event.
