Recycling Bin

Curbside Recycling Program

The City of Deadwood will provide one recyclables  container to each enrolled residential account and recyclables will be collected curbside once a month.

If you are interested, please contact Rhonda at (605) 578-3082 for information on how to enroll.   The containers are available for pickup at the city shop on Dunlop Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

The following items can be placed in the blue bin:

Glass:  beverage bottles and jars (remove lids)

Aluminum:  beverage cans, food cans, aluminum bottles, hairspray cans (empty), shaving cream cans, and spray starch cans.

Steel:  food cans, coffee cans, empty paint cans, and aerosol cans (empty).

Plastic:  milk jugs, detergent jugs, soda bottles, water bottles, hair care bottles, food containers, empty paint containers, drained oil containers, items with a recycle triangle on the bottom. (Please triple rinse pesticide or other empty toxic substance containers.)

Items that DO NOT go in the Recycle Containers:  Styrofoam, plastic grocery bags, food wrap, automobile oil, plastic toys, aluminum foil, packing peanuts, Pyrex, pool chemical containers, shiny cardboard, paperboard, cereal boxes, drinking glasses, light bulbs, ceramics, window glass, mirrors, PVC, scrap metal: toasters, pots, coat hangers, service pans, pie tins and roasting pans. No garbage please.
